But there’s a way to feel infinitely happy without much work. Gratitude is an attitude you feel when you appreciate what you have. And while it can be complicated to be grateful when things go down, it’s still something you must develop.

Amy Morin is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist. Since 2002, she has been counseling children, teens, and adults. She also works as an adjunct psychology instructor.
