Gabriel Egan, Professor of Shakespeare Studies at De Montfort University, discusses what we know about Shakespeare’s collaboration with other writers, and why he chose to work this way. Taking the example of Two Noble Kinsman, which includes William Shakespeare and John Fletcher on the title page, he explores how scholarship has evolved over the years allowing for the discovery of more of Shakespeare’s collaborators. www.oup.com/Shakespeare

Professor Gabriel Egan is the Director for the Centre of Textual Studies (CTS) at De Montfort University, Leicester. He is editor of Theatre Notebook, and author of books on twentiethcentury textual scholarship, ecocriticism, and Marxist theory. He is one of the General Editors of the New Oxford Shakespeare.

Social Collaborators, What do You Know about Your Colleagues you Wish you Didn't Know?

When you engage in social media and choose to collaborate you turn on the fire hose of information. Some of its valuable, some of it’s not related, and some is information you wish you didn’t hear. Why do you care what your coworker is eating at 3am? At Enterprise 2.0 conference in Santa Clara, California, I asked attendees, “What do you know about your colleagues you wish you didn’t know?”

Some people did answer the question, others weren’t so forthcoming and I did my best to try to get them to answer.

The Chetniks of WW2 Yugoslavia – Resistance or Axis Collaborators?

Were the Chetniks Axis collaborators? Or did they resist the Axis during WW2? Time to explore this debate by exploring the situation in Yugoslavia during the war, and examining the Yugoslavian resistance, with a focus on Mihailović’s Chetniks. We can compare them to other Chetnik movements as well as to Tito’s Communist ‘Partisans’ and see if we can figure out what the historical truth really is.

ABOUT TIK 📝

History isn’t as boring as some people think, and my goal is to get people talking about it. I also want to dispel the myths and distortions that ruin our perception of the past by asking a simple question “But is this really the case?”. I have a 2:1 Degree in History and a passion for early 20th Century conflicts (mainly WW2). I’m therefore approaching this like I would an academic essay. Lots of sources, quotes, references and so on. Only the truth will do.

This video is discussing events or concepts that are academic, educational and historical in nature. This video is for informational purposes and was created so we may better understand the past and learn from the mistakes others have made.

"What is an Innovative Learning Environment?" 25 OECD ILE project collaborators share their thoughts

Collection of all the interviews with the speakers at the “Barcelona International Conference on Learning Leadership” (December 2013) about what is an Innovative Learning Environment in different countries and situations. http://learningleadershipconference.cat/en/projecteile/
The OECD Innovative Learning Environments (ILE) project analyses how young people learn. It studies which conditions and dynamics allow them to be able to learn better. By identifying concrete cases of innovative learning environments from all over the world, ILE aims to inform practice, leadership and reform through generating analysis of innovative and inspiring configurations of learning for children and young people.

The distinctive contribution of the ILE project is to analyse, with numerous international examples, innovative ways of organising learning at the micro level (learning environment) and how this connects to the meso level (networks and communities of practice) and strategies to implement learning change at the macro, system level.
