For Honor – Best Control Type – Keyboard and Mouse vs Controller – Which is Better? Which to Use?

For Honor Keyboard vs controller let’s see which is better and which one you should use. KB/M vs controller!

What’s up everyone I’m Hubsmash and if you’re playing for Honor on PC you may have given some thought as to whether or not you should use a keyboard or mouse with For Honor I have the game on both PC and PS4 so I’ll offer some of my opinions for you to help make your decision. I’ve put probably 20 hours into each control method thus far, so I’m by no means an expert.

What I’ll do in this video is try to give an overview of what I believe the strengths to be that are unique to each controller type.

So let’s get into it

First, the pro’s of the controller

The first thing to consider with the controller is that I think most people will find it easier to pick up the controls. Controllers just feel very intuitive for these types of games and the game already has a pretty steep learning curve, so it might be in your interest to lower that curve a bit. This won’t be the case for everyone. It really depends how comfortable you are on a controller to begin with.

Honestly in my opinion that’s about it. If you guys can think of any other benefit of using a controller please let me know. The only other thing I can think of is that you can lounge on a couch or something but since you’re playing on PC that’s not typically an option. If theres an idea I missed though I wanna hear about it!

Now for the pros of keyboard and mouse, and the reasons I think you should use this control method if it’s available to you.

Camera control when maneuvering the battlefield is way better. It’s faster and you can make more accurate sprinting turns. This might not seem like a big deal, but it allows you to cut off people’s turns that are running away from you so you can slowly gain on them even if you have the same movement speed. Especially useful in modes like elimination or dominion.

Guarding is arguably faster and more responsive. Now this I can’t say with certainty but it’s just how I feel. I feel like I can adjust my guard A LOT faster using the mouse. It was ALOT harder for me to get used to it as well, however and if I’m honest, I still sort of am getting used to it. It is imperative that your guard is as fast as possible so you can do your best to block those orochi top lights or the wardens zone attack for example.

Aiming projectile or targetable feats is much easier. This doesn’t require much explanation other than when you’re out of block the aiming is done manually. It’s just much easier with a mouse as is any kind of aiming in any game ever.

attack cancelling into guard breaks is easier because you don’t use the same finger to cancel as you do to break. This is a fairly minor thing but it can definitely make things a bit easier.

Finally the keyboard/mouse are totally customizable. You can bind extra mouse buttons, change everything you want etc. If you guys are interested I’ll make avideo going over my keybinds and my reasoning. I do recognize that you can use third party software to change controller bindings as well, so that’s an option though not quite as simple as just binding it in the options.

Again this is all just my opinion. I’m biased because I’m primarily a PC player, but like I said I have lots of experience in both versions of the game and I feel like there is a small advantage to keyboard and mouse users for the reasons I stated above. I want to hear your opinions though what do you guys think? I’d love to hear from someone who plays equal time pc and console or who doesn’t have the PC bias but often uses a controller.

For Honor is a medieval melee action game by Ubisoft that initially released in 2017, this game features multiple different modes in the form of a single player story, a randomised arcade PVE mode for solo or two players, PVP battles of up to 4v4 players, 1v1 duels, 2v2 duels, and a siege mode where there’s a team of attackers and a team of defenders.
Over the years For Honor has had many new updates to the game and I remember myself enjoying it when I last played in the open beta so In this video I just wanted to go back and revisit it.

For Honor is an action hack and slash video game in development by Ubisoft Montreal and set to be published by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game features a handtohand combat system described as “The Art of Battle” by the developers and allows players to play the roles of historical soldiers such as medieval knights, samurai, and vikings within a Medieval fantasy setting. Players can play as a character from three different factions, namely The Legion, The Chosen, and The Warborn. The three factions represent knight, samurai, and Vikings, respectively. Each faction has four classes. The Vanguard class are described as “wellbalanced” and has excellent offence and defence. The Assassins class are fast, are very efficient in dueling enemies, but they deal much less damage to enemies. The Heavies are more resistant to damages and suitable for holding capture points, though their attacks are slow. The last class, known as “Hybrids”, are said to be a combination of the three types, and is capable of using uncommon skills. All heroes are unique, and have their own weapons, skills, and fighting styles.
