Korat Clay Festival 2021 Invitation Video
The IKThai Korat Ceramics Festival 2021. starts Dec. 19. There currently are about 15 international ceramic artists of varying stature coming. There are at least that many Thai artists coming. I am expecting over 30. The festival will be held in Nakorn Ratchasima Province and will split its time between four locations. The first part is a series of lectures at The Korat Resort. The resort is located near the Historic Village of Dan Kwian. Dan Kwian, also spelled Dankwian, is a pottery town with somewhere over 25 active wood fired anagram style kilns. The second part will be workshops, lessons, and experience in the pottery village and will involve village artists, Thai Artists, many of whom are bilingual in English and Thai and the international artists. The third part is an exhibition and another series of lectures at a university in the nearby city of Nakorn Ratchasima. The local name for the city is Korat. There are also demonstrations scheduled for in town for the local population. Thailand has a long ceramics tradition and a rich history. The province is full of art and crafts and there are tours planned to visit these places. The easiest way to get more information is to get onto our list via email.
